What is Eudaimonic Well-Being?

Essentially it’s everything but avoiding pain and seeking pleasure which is more or less the hedonic approach. The eudaimonic approach is focused on things like finding meaning and journeying through a path of self-realization (much like what the author Elizabeth Gilbert touches upon in her book “Eat, Pray, Love”) in order to heal and to find peace with not only ourselves but with the world.

In fact, sometimes it can mean embracing pain and welcoming those negative relationships (or “negative people”) into our lives because sometimes these relationships might teach us the things we need to learn in order to become whole, to change, to evolve, and to grow. Needless to say, in becoming whole we become more tolerant, more balanced in every aspect of our being and in our lives.
